Gi Group, one of the world’s leading companies providing services for the labour market, was awarded a top industry accolade at yesterday’s prestigious annual Recruitment Consultant Awards held at Café de Paris in Central London. The company was named as Runners Up (‘Highly Commended’) in the ‘Best Large Recruitment Business’ category.
The panel of judges, which included REC Chief Executive Kevin Green, made a point of praising the quality of Gi Group's onsite business model and the high level of added value which the company provides to clients across the business. Presenting the award Jim Tanfield, Editor at Recruitment Consultant, was vociferous in his admiration for the business stating that it proved that ‘recruitment can be so much more than a commodity.’
The ‘Best Large Recruitment Business’ category was open to all businesses with a turnover of £100m and upwards and attracted a large number of entries. As part of the entry process Gi Group was asked to demonstrate proof of its unsurpassable customer service, strong candidate experience and in-depth knowledge of its sectors. Training and staff development were also key aspects of the award.
Jess Watts, CEO at Gi Group UK, said: “It comes as no surprise to me that we have received this award. At Gi Group we have the scale, experience and back office systems to deliver highly efficient temporary staffing contracts for some of the largest employers in the country, as well as run a successful and profitable branch network with many hundreds of small and medium sized clients. We have proven our strength during unprecedented difficult times and this award means that we have now been recognised amongst our peers for the quality of our service. This is a highly creditable result in the ‘Blue Riband’ category of an important competition and one of which everyone in the company should be proud.“
