We have experienced many changes in employment legislation and now we see one of our major roles as being to protect candidates from being discriminated against and to protect clients from any potential discriminative acts and legislative risks to their business.
We are an equal opportunities employer and have also committed to the Recruitment and Employment Confederation’s diversity pledge.
All of our staff are comprehensively trained in the main Legislative Acts, inclusive of sex, age, race, disability discrimination, the right to work in the UK, the Working Time Regulatons and the Agency Workers Regulations.
We have been approved under the Gangmaster's Licensing Act and, as well as being members of the Recruitment and Employment Confederation, we are members of the Association of Labour Providers. As members of these organisations we are kept informed of any changes to existing legislation, the details of which are clearly communicated to our operational network. They, in turn, will inform our candidates of any changes which affect them as well as working with every client to ensure we are both compliant with the changes that have been made.

We are confident that all candidates will be treated fairly and be selected for interviews/assignments on their ability to effectively perform the roles that they accept. All candidates can also be assured that they are working with a supplier that recognises the benefit of actively working with all of their clients to ensure that we are both legislatively compliant.

Drivers Legislation

The Gi Group was the first agency to be "Audited and Approved" by the Freight Transport Association (FTA) following a thorough review of the company's compliance management systems.

The provision of a low risk service through working with both our clients and drivers is a high priority to us, and the protection of the Operators and Drivers Licences through legislative compliance is reflected in our processes.

All of our staff dealing with the logistics market are comprehensively trained in Road Transport (Working Time) Regulations and EU Drivers' Hours Rules and are obtaining an FTA Certificate of Professional Competence in Recruitment Practice. Many of our operational staff are FTA approved Digital Tachograph trainers.

Our candidates' industry knowledge is assessed at registration by using a market leading web assessment. Candidates are taken through and provided with guidance notes on legislative requirements, and their working and driving time is monitored by using a bespoke tracker system.

All of our logistics offices use a bespoke driver compliance management database. This enables branch staff to easily access driver information, availability and allows a work flow process for the management of driver infringements. The system monitors Road Transport (Working Time) regulations and EU Drivers' Hours Rules for all drivers providing compliance checks, at the time of booking, which include licences, driving hours and daily/weekly rest. This is then rechecked once the actual working and driving hours have been confirmed.

We have a dedicated Quality & Safety team who are committed to ensuring high standards of service and compliance. Quarterly branch audits are conducted to ensure that improvements in performance can be fed back into the operational network.
