Working Time Directive
The Gi Group was the first agency to be "Audited and Approved" by the Freight Transport Association (FTA) following a thorough review of the company's compliance management systems.
The provision of a low risk service through working with both our clients and drivers is a high priority to us, and the protection of the Operators and Drivers Licences through legislative compliance is reflected in our processes.
All of our staff dealing with the logistics market are comprehensively trained in Road Transport (Working Time) Regulations and EU Drivers' Hours Rules and are obtaining an FTA Certificate of Professional Competence in Recruitment Practice. Many of our operational staff are FTA approved Digital Tachograph trainers.
Our candidates' industry knowledge is assessed at registration by using a market leading web assessment. Candidates are taken through and provided with guidance notes on legislative requirements, and their working and driving time is monitored by using a bespoke tracker system.
All of our logistics offices use a bespoke driver compliance management database. This enables branch staff to easily access driver information, availability and allows a work flow process for the management of driver infringements. The system monitors Road Transport (Working Time) regulations and EU Drivers' Hours Rules for all drivers providing compliance checks, at the time of booking, which include licences, driving hours and daily/weekly rest. This is then rechecked once the actual working and driving hours have been confirmed.
We have a dedicated Quality & Safety team who are committed to ensuring high standards of service and compliance. Quarterly branch audits are conducted to ensure that improvements in performance can be fed back into the operational network.
